After a long awaited pregnancy our little girl was born into the world on the 7th August 2007, weighing 7lbs 14oz, we named her Evie May. She brought us so much joy to us, our family and friends! We were so happy as any parent is when their first born has arrived in the world.
We watched her grow and develop as she grew older not knowing we were on borrowed time. We celebrated her first christmas and seeing in the new year. Then we took her to Shropshire to see her Great Grandma and had a lovely week, not knowing what was around the corner........
On the morning of the 7th January 2008 at home I found Evie not breathing in her cot, and I knew straight away she had left our world. My husband and the medical team tried to bring her back but with no success, she had gone.
It was like a nightmare that i was waiting to wake up from but unfortuantly it was real, the next few days after were just unbearable.
Evie's cause of death was unknown so was put down to cot death or also known as sudden infant death syndrome.
She was laid to rest in my family church on the 11th Feb, with a service to celebrate her life but there was no dry eye in the church.
My Grandad had also passed away a week after Evie on the 14th Jan, so they were buried close to each other. I still believe to this day they are together looking after each other.
We are so grateful for the precious 5 months we spent with Evie, and she lives on in our hearts and memories. We now have a son Taryn and we will tell him about his big sister when he can understand.
We miss you so much Evie, hope you have your angel wings now, and you are enjoying flying around in the sky. LOVE YOU OUR LITTLE BEAN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
My dear Grandad, Raymond James Leggett, you were the best grandad in the world and I love you so much. Thank you for looking after Evie and I hope you are now healthy again and happy. Rest in Peace xxxxxxxxxx
